Tickets for ‘Alan Carr & Friends’ went on sale this morning (2 June) at 10am. By 10.04 the event was sold out.
Macarts in the centre of Galashiels will host the event billed as ‘Join Alan Carr as he tries out new material with some of his comedy friends’.
The Main Hall holds 450 which is presumably the space being used for the event.
MacArts descfibes itself as ‘a live music and arts venue in the Scottish Borders town of Galashiels. We host live music from national and international touring artists as well as providing a platform for up-and-coming local acts. We also host comedy, theatre and community events.’
It has been mentioned elsewhere that Alan Carr is planning to hold pre-Edinburgh Fringe events at Ayton Castle, his new home.
Note: The Bridge has long-believed that Berwick is the ideal location for acts to warm-up pre Edinburgh, it’s perfect for honing material. Being just 45 minutes from Edinburgh a perfect base for Fringe fans too. Perhaps the attempted promotion of Berwick will reach places outside the town at some point?
