Stephen Scott was yesterday, 24 September, elected Town Councillor for Castle ward, in Berwick Upon Tweed.
Councillor Scott has been Chair of Berwick Chamber of Trade and Commerce since 2019. He owns and runs The Walls bed and breakfast in Berwick, currently up for sale.
Scott ran on an Independent ticket upon which he pledged to provide for value for money from tax-spend : ‘demanding transparency and value in every service delivered’.
On being elected, Cllr Scott told The Bridge: ‘My only immediate priorities are to establish myself as a Town Councillor, understand the workings and Governance of the Town Council and determine how I can best use my skills and experience for the benefit of the Town.
‘I would also like to thank everyone who provided their support by offering their vote and everyone who sent their best wishes today.’
Commiserations and thanks were offered to the other two candidates, Colin Hardy and Dave Hay.
