Deputy Mayor Graham Brown was voted off Berwick upon Tweed Town Council in the only election for the Town Council in this year’s local elections.
While Catherine Seymour, who lost her seat on Northumberland County Council by just four votes, and former Deputy Mayor, Robert Bruce, both make a return to parish politics.
Those elected for Castle ward in the north west and centre of the town (see map) were Rachel Driver (no public affiliation), Philip Rowe (Ind) and Catherine Seymour (Cons). Ms Seymour served as a county councillor from 2017 and prior to this served on the Town Council
Castle ward has three seats with four candidates throwing their hats in, forcing an election.
All other wards had the requisite number or fewer candidates for the seats and their councillors were all ‘elected unopposed’.
