Pop-up Productions, aka Lisa Summers and Laura Catterall, are getting ready to welcome youngsters from Berwick, and beyond, for their first youth production.
The pair staged their first productions under the Berwick Musical & Theatre Society (formerly Berwick Operatic Society). They have now launched Pop-up Productions to focus on youth productions.
Lisa and Laura have already staged ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ among others, and now look forward to working with youngsters on a youth version of Cats
‘We love seeing the kids develop from that first rehearsal to the performance, say Lisa and Laura. ‘Kids that are so shy suddenly find their confidence and those who didn’t know they could sing suddenly find that they have a voice.
‘It gives such satisfaction to know that you’ve provided a stage for kids to find a way to express themselves.
‘Ultimately as parents ourselves we just want to give kids an opportunity to have fun and enjoy musical theatre.’

For ages 7 (7th birthday by end March 2025) to 18 years, all abilities, no previous experience needed.
Registration and first rehearsal on 5 January
First rehearsal: Spittal Community Centre, Sunday 5 January 2025,14:00-17:00. Rehearsals each Sunday (plus Monday evenings for lead roles/smaller groups). No previous experience required!
The show will be staged at Spittal Community Centre 27-29 March 2025
Pop-Up Productions is a not-for-profit group. However, to cover venue costs, a one-off fee of £25 is payable at the first rehearsal (cash preferred). Let Lisa and Laura know if you’d like to pay by instalments.
