UPDATES: North Northumberland continued in the top three counties for several hours. Now has settled at 6.1% of the 94,200 total voters.

9am Sunday morning North Northumberland now in tied 2nd place with Newark, Lincs, behind Brentwood and Ongar in Essex. Total signatures and continuing to grow – 330,000 plus and rising be hundreds every minute. At a rough calculation at the same rates the total should reach 1 million by 10pm tonight.
Why should N Northumberland be so keen to see a new election?

At almost midnight on Saturday North Northumberland had registered the highest number of signatures on a national petition calling for a new General Election.
0.587% of voters (553 out of 94,200 voters) had voted in the online petition which after just a few hours had reached more than 193,000 signatures.

At 100,000 signatures Westminster is obliged to debate a petition.
What does this mean for the County Council elections in May?
